Job Description
General Manager – Alaska Office

Position Overview: Our client has worked on water supply, sanitation and environmental problems globally.

Our client with its head office in Anchorage, Alaska, has been active in the state since 1989. The company specializes in providing engineering consulting services in water and sanitation and other infrastructure projects to Alaska’s numerous remote, rural villages. The company does design, planning construction supervision and project management on these projects.

The overall objective for the General Manager is to grow the business while diversifying to take advantage of the many other opportunities available in Alaska. The company has a good start to this end.

Position Mandate:

Key manager responsible for meeting the growth, profit, work quality and other objectives of the company, including:
· Business Development: Managing the marketing and business development efforts for the company, leading to the submission of proposals and the winning of projects.
· Project Management: Hands-on project management of some of the company’s key projects.
· Staffing and Supervision: Recruitment, orientation, training and supervision of company personnel.
· Technical Development: Supervise and participate in the ongoing technical development of the company’s proprietary product lines.
· Corporate and Financial Responsibilities: i) participating with the President and Senior Management in strategy planning and setting of goals and objectives for Alaska office and ii) supervision of financial and accounting functions in the company, and iii) liaison with the company’s professional service providers including legal, tax accountant, payroll services, etc.

Key qualification and experience should include:
· Engineer with at least 10 years of experience
· Management (operations and administration) experience
· Water / wastewater experience
· Entrepreneurial drive

Along with base salary our client is offering a performance bonus. The package also includes time off benefits and relocation support.
